Priced off today's rate, weighed in and weighed out

A jewellery counter re-prices its entire stock every morning. MondayPOS builds each bill from the day's rate, the piece's weight, its purity and its making charge, so the arithmetic is the same for every customer.

The problem

What goes wrong in Jewellery

Jewellery is the only retail where the cost price of your stock changes before you open. A piece is priced from the day's gold rate times its net weight, plus making charge, plus wastage, minus whatever old gold the customer brings in, and that sum is usually done on a calculator by whoever is at the counter. One forgotten making charge is the day's margin.

Built for the way you sell

01
Today's rate, everywhere at once

Set the gold and silver rate for the day and every piece reprices: no re-tagging, no counter arithmetic.

02
Making charge never gets dropped

Charge and wastage are attributes of the piece, applied automatically per gram or per piece.

03
Purity and hallmark on the record

Karat, purity and hallmark reference travel with the item and print on the invoice.

04
Old gold valued on the bill

Exchange is weighed, deducted at the purity-adjusted rate and shown as its own line.

05
Stock counted in grams

Gross and net weight per piece, so the safe reconciles by weight rather than by piece count.

06
Advance and order tracking

Custom orders hold an advance against a specified design, weight and delivery date.

Why MondayPOS

Why operators in Jewellery choose MondayPOS

Bills are built from the rate, the weight and the purity, so the making charge and wastage cannot be left out by accident.

Old-gold exchange is a valued line on the same invoice, not a discount somebody keys in.

Stock is held piece by piece with gross and net weight, so what is in the safe reconciles by grams and not by count.

Benefits

What you get out of it

Making charge never gets forgotten

It is an attribute of the piece, applied by the system rather than remembered at the counter.

Every piece weighed in and weighed out

Gross and net weight on the record, so the safe reconciles in grams.

One rate change, the whole showcase

Set the morning rate once and every tag's price follows it.

Old gold is valued, not discounted

Exchange comes in as a purity-adjusted line with its own weight and rate.

Purity and hallmark stay with the piece

Karat and hallmark reference print on the invoice and survive in the record.

Approvals leave a trail

Rate edits, discounts and exchange valuations carry who authorised them.

You set the rate per karat for the day. Each piece carries its net weight, purity, making charge and wastage, and the bill is computed from those, so changing the rate reprices the whole showcase without anyone re-tagging stock.

Yes. The exchanged item is weighed and valued at the purity-adjusted rate on the same invoice, appearing as its own deduction line rather than as an unexplained discount.

Karat, purity and a hallmark reference are attributes of the piece. They stay attached to it through stock, sale and any later exchange, and can be printed on the invoice.
